German giants Borussia Dortmund have this afternoon confirmed the high-profile signing of RB Salzburg star Erling Braut Haaland.
Haaland on fire
Haaland, a 19-year-old Norwegian striker, exploded onto the world football stage over the opening half of the season.
After departing his home country to join Austrian powerhouse RB Salzburg in January, the youngster was slowly introduced to the club’s first-team setup over the second-half of the campaign.
The early months of the new season, though, saw Haaland go on to establish himself not only as a fully fledged starter, but also the star man in a talented Salzburg outfit.
Incredibly, across all competitions, the hitman has racked up 28 goals and 7 assists this term, in just 22 appearances.
8 of his goals, meanwhile, have come in the Champions League, proving Haaland is already capable of performing at the top level of European football.

Dortmund switch
As such, the 19-year-old has unsurprisingly been earmarked as a potential world-beater by a number of Europe’s top clubs.
To this point, the sides most-persistently named as keen suitors of the teen had been Manchester United and Juventus.
Some outlets even went as far as to suggest that the latter had reached an agreement with the Salzburg standout.
As outlined above, however, while Haaland’s time in Austria has officially come to an end after just one year, the twice-capped international is not on his way to either Italy or England.
It is in fact Borussia Dortmund who have won the race for European football’s most talked about starlet.
In an official announcement across the club’s social media platforms a short time ago, Bundesliga giants BVB announced Haaland’s signing on a 5-year deal:

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, meanwhile, has since provided an insight into some of the apparent details of the transfer.
Incredibly, Dortmund are said to have paid just €20 million to activate Haaland’s release clause.
Additionally, though, the German outfit were forced to fork over €10 million to the Norwegian’s father, and a further €15 million in commissions to agent Mino Raiola.
