French giants Paris Saint-Germain have this afternoon confirmed the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as the club’s new head coach.
Tuchel out
The situation in the dugout at the Parc des Princes has of course taken centre stage in the media over recent weeks.
This comes with the the Ligue 1 champions having opted to part ways with Thomas Tuchel.
Despite having guided PSG to back-to-back league titles, as well as the final of last season’s Champions League, it was eventually decided earlier this week that the German tactician was not the right man to lead the club forward:

Poch returns to management
Tuchel’s imminent sacking had been common knowledge for some time before confirmation was forthcoming, with widespread reports having pointed towards one tactician in particular as the favourite to replace the former Dortmund boss on the bench in the French capital.
The tactician in question? Mauricio Pochettino.
Ex-Tottenham manager Pochettino has been out of work since being relieved of his duties in north London late in 2019, despite being held in high regard across world football.
PSG, in turn, were no doubt aware that they risked missing out on the Argentine, if any further time was wasted.
As such, it has since come as little surprise to see official word arriving online this afternoon, that Poch has indeed been appointed as the new manager of the capital giants.
The one-time PSG defender, who lined out for the club from 2001 to 2003, has put pen to paper on an 18-month deal, with the option for a further year:
