NEW MUSIC: Slow Walk – When Your Love Goes Away

London singer-songwriter Slow Walk releases new single “When Your Love Goes Away”, a reflection on the importance of cherishing the people in one’s life.

Slow Walk is the alter-ego of London based singer-songwriter Keith Turner, the quirky project name decided by a group of youths in Tuffnell Park who called for ‘daddy cool’ to ‘slow walk’. This fast turned into a joke between Turner and collaborator Bean, with this songwriter’s innate ability to see the humour in anything becoming a key factor within his unique sound. Turner’s influence from witty songwriters such as Ray Davies, Morrisey, Jarvis Cocker and Rivers Cuomo is evident throughout his songwriting which speaks the truth and takes life with a pinch of salt.

When Your Love Goes Away”, Slow Walk’s first single to be available everywhere, is an ode to his ‘amazing, lovely’ parents. He explains further that it’s “about cherishing the time you have with your loved ones while you can”, a sentiment we should all hold dear in these times of uncertainty. Turner is a man of many talents – also a passionate film geek and editor, his music tells stories in much the same way as a film would, each song with its own unique world and musical palette. This creative approach to writing has seen his compositions featured in many short and feature films including My Brother The Devil.

A little birdy tells me an EP is to follow shortly, in which we can expect to hear tales of daydreaming, witches, online lynch mobs and famous detectives. Sounds like something to look forward to! Be sure to follow Slow Walk on social media to keep up with this songwriting superhero’s work…
