Mesut Ozil’s agent confirms intention to see out Arsenal contract: ‘No chance he’ll leave’

The agent of Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has today reaffirmed his client’s commitment to the club, assuring that the German has every intention of seeing out the remainder of his contract in north London.

Ozil’s exit links

Speculation surrounding the future of Gunners midfielder Ozil has reemerged in force over recent months.

Amid another largely-disappointing campaign to this point, during which the 31-year-old has often struggled for form, question marks have begun to crop back up regarding a potential summer exit from the Emirates.

Despite Ozil having established himself as first-choice since the appointment of Mikel Arteta, he has, to this point in the campaign, managed just a solitary goal and assist across 17 Premier League starts.

This is the type of return that has led to large sections of Arsenal’s fans doubling down on their calls for their side’s no. 10 to be moved on.

On-loan Gunners midfielder Mohamed Elneny, meanwhile, just yesterday tipped Ozil to follow him to Turkey, with Fenerbahce:

‘Mesut really loves Fenerbahce. He’s always speaking about the club and the fans.’

‘If you ask me, I think he could come to Fenerbahce.’

‘He will stay’

As outlined above, however, if the latest comments of the former Real Madrid man’s agent are anything to go by, then Ozil will not be departing the Emirates at any point in the near future.

Speaking in an interview with inews earlier today, Dr Erkut Sögüt assured that his client remains fully committed to the Arsenal cause, and that Ozil will see out the remainder of his contract in north London:

‘He still has 15 months to go. Until then, he will stay at Arsenal, for sure. He will stay until the end of his contract. There’s no chance he’ll leave.’

Sögüt continued:

‘He is going into the end of this contract, he will be 32 years old, he will be a free agent, and it’s not a bad situation.’

‘And he’s 32 so he can still go and play in top-level football for the next two or three years.’
