Leicester standout
James Maddison made the switch to Leicester City in July of 2018.
The Foxes signed Maddison from then Championship outfit Norwich for a fee believed to be around £22.5m.
Maddison had no Premier League experience prior to signing for Leicester.
Despite this, the England international hit the ground running in the English top-flight with Leicester.
Maddison would net seven and assist seven in 36 PL outings last term.
And the 23-year-old has continued to impress during the current campaign, scoring six and assisting three in 20 league ties so far this season.
Maddison is currently contracted to Leicester until 2023.
Man United to make Maddison offer
With Maddison a pivotal member of a high-flying Leicester squad, it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to hear he is reportedly attracting interest from another club.
That team is said to be Manchester United with the Mirror reporting that the Red Devils are prepared to offer £45m and Jesse Lingard in a bid to persuade Leicester to sell Maddison.
But United may find landing Maddison anytime soon a huge task.
Brendan Rodgers recently spoke about players leaving Leicester, stating that nobody will leave the King Power that they don’t want to go:
“Nobody will leave here that we don’t want to go.
“I think we’ve had a couple of enquiries in terms of loans and for some of our younger players.
“But the players that are always talked about and mentioned, there will be nobody going.” As quoted by Sky Sports News.
Also, it is hard to see Leicester being that interested in Lingard.
The Man United midfielder has failed to score or assist in his last 18 Premier League appearances.
