Man United star Bailly eases injury fears

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has taken to social media, to assure fans of the club that they need not fret over his fitness.

Bailly forced off

Bailly was one of a host of Red Devils stars to depart for international duty this week.

The 26-year-old, after working his way back into the starting XI at Old Trafford of late, was called up by Ivory Coast boss Patrice Beaumelle for the Elephants’ latest round of fixtures.

Ahead of the country’s upcoming African Nations qualifiers next month, the Ivory Coast scheduled a pair of friendly outings, versus Belgium and Japan.

The first took place on Thursday night, with Beaumelle’s men having emerged from their meeting with the World’s top-rated side with a reputable 1-1 draw.

One concern on an otherwise positive evening for the Elephants, however, came on the personnel front.

After going to ground clutching his hamstring, the aforementioned Bailly was eventually forced off to be replaced by Odilon Kossounou with 70 minutes on the clock.

‘Perfectly fine’

As such, on the back of Thursday night’s clash, fears had since spread amongst the Manchester United faithful that Bailly’s problem may see him ruled out for an extended period over the coming weeks.

If the latest update on the part of the stopper himself is anything to go by, however, then fans of the Red Devils need not worry.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Bailly posted a positive message, confirming that his exit versus Belgium came as little more than a precaution, amid a bout of fatigue:

‘Thanks for worrying about me. But I feel perfectly fine, just fatigue.’
