Foden’s Man City stint
Phil Foden is one of the few local talents to actually make it from Manchester City’s youth set-up into their first-team in recent years.
Despite being just 20 years of age, Foden has already notched 92 appearances across all competitions for the Citizen’s senior side.
In said ties, Foden has managed to find the net on 20 occasions and provide 16 assists.
Foden would feature 38 times last term, providing eight goals and nine assists.
However, Foden did look set to best that goal contribution record this term, starting the season brightly and scoring five goals and earning four assists.
Foden growing frustrated
For whatever reason, though, recent months have seen Foden’s playing time diminish a fair bit.
In the Premier League, for example, Foden was handed starts in City’s first five league games of 2020/21.
However, since being replaced early on during Man City’s 1-0 win over Arsenal, Foden has found starts in the PL very hard to come by.
In fact, Foden has started just one of the Sky Blues’ last nine league outings, not even making it off the bench in four of those games.
Now, with the January window fast approaching, it appears Foden has become displeased with his current role at City.
According to a recent report from the Telegraph, Foden is growing increasingly frustrated by his lack of playing time for City in the Premier League this campaign.
Despite this, though, it is added that Foden is known to be fully committed to City and sees his long-term future with the Manchester powerhouse:
