Liverpool boost as key trio – including Alisson – spotted in training ahead of Chelsea

The latest photos emerging from Liverpool’s training ground suggest that the Reds could welcome back a trio of key performers to the club’s matchday squad on Thursday night.

CL showdown

Jurgen Klopp’s men are set to return to action in 48 hours’ time.

The Merseysiders will welcome Chelsea to Anfield, for the week’s marquee Premier League fixture.

The clash marks a key one in the race for European football, with the two sides, as things stand, separated by just a point in the English top-flight table.

It is Thomas Tuchel’s Blues who currently boast the advantage, having enjoyed a fine start to life under the guidance of their new boss.

Liverpool, though, on the back of a dismal spell of form, got things back on track to at least some degree last time out, when the Reds downed Sheffield United by 2 goals to nil at Bramall Lane.

Jota amongst returnees?

And, as outlined above, ahead of Thursday’s highly-anticipated clash, the champions have today been handed a further boost.

This comes in the form of the potential return of all of Alisson, Fabinho and Diogo Jota to the club’s matchday squad.

Both Jota and Fabinho have been sidelined for some time now, with respective fitness issues. Alisson, meanwhile, played no part in Liverpool’s win over Sheffield United at the weekend, following the tragic passing of his father.

All three, however, were spotted in first-team training at the club’s Kirkby training centre this evening:
