These five players could have turned out for other countries due to their heritage or where they have lived.

1. Jordi Murphy – Spain

The Ireland international was born in Barcelona to Irish parents, Conor Murphy and Nicola Carroll. He was named after Catalonia’s patron saint St. Jordi,  a decision which was influenced by the nurses on duty the night of his birth as the following day was the St Jordi’s Day festival. The Spanish national side is ranked 16th in the world (as of 9 February 2020).
