Some Everton fans have once again called upon the club to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish following his performance in his side’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg on Wednesday.
It was just a few weeks ago that Toffees supporters were fawning over the Villa captain on Twitter, and now they are at it again.
This wasn’t even a vintage display statistically from the 24-year-old either, who failed to have a shot and made just one key pass and successfully completed one dribble according to WhoScored – way down on his average of 2.7 and 2.1 per game respectively for those two in the Premier League this term.
A couple of these fans picked out some of the admirable traits Grealish has as a reason why they want him at Goodison Park.
I would love Grealish at Everton. Can take the ball in any area and carry it. Like his attitude aswell.

Should have signed Grealish two years ago always said he was miles better than Barkley or Sigurdsson, someone to build a midfield around, we’ve never built the spine of the team.

One picked out his positive attitude, which must be good considering he is the club’s skipper, and that could be something Everton need right now.
The Athletic has suggested that some senior players blamed the tactics and setup for the poor performance in the 1-0 defeat against Liverpool last weekend, while Fabian Delph had an argument with a fan on Instagram in the aftermath of the loss – hardly ideal.
The Toffees have made plenty of transfer mistakes in recent years too with Ancelotti reportedly ready to offload five signings former director of football Steve Walsh made in Gylfi Sigurdsson, Morgan Schneiderlin, Michael Keane, Cenk Tosun and Theo Walcott.
Grealish could be different though, as he is a young player who looks to have huge potential to get even better and be a real star at this level.

One fan below even believes he will be world-class. It’s a bit early to be saying that, but if he can add more consistency, goals and assists to his game then I guess you never know.
Would take Grealish in a heartbeat. Exactly the point I’m trying to make. Need more buys like that. Cost always an issue however.
I know it’s not that simple.

Jack Grealish as well. Will be world class. Top player tonight #LeiAvl Everton should be looking at Mings and Grealish big time.

Others chose to compare him to attacking midfielder Sigurdsson, who has endured a dreadful 2019/20 campaign to date, with two goals and one assist in 23 appearances in all competitions.
He has also been slated by fans on Twitter for his displays recently.
Do a good and sign Jack Grealish @Everton and we’ll forget about Sigurdsson

One Aston Villa supporter saw one of the comments and delivered a few home truths though, saying that he would join a top team if he leaves the Midlands outfit – shots fired!
You can’t have him! After looking like going off the rails he has really matured. He is way stronger and keeps his temper now. Fantastic player and I hope Villa can satisfy his undoubted ambition. I expect he will move on, but no offence, to a team at the very top.

In other Everton news, the Toffees are reportedly targeting a “leader” who would finally be a good replacement for Romelu Lukaku…
