Many Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been discussing Borussia Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer after the Transfer Window Podcast suggested he is a target following an injury to Harry Kane.
The England international was taken off holding his hamstring in the 1-0 defeat against Southampton on New Year’s Day, and the club has since confirmed that it was a tear, with The Guardian reporting he will be out of action until March.
That leaves manager Jose Mourinho with a predicament, with Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura getting the nod up top ahead of 17-year-old Troy Parrott in the FA Cup tie against Middlesbrough on Sunday.
The Transfer Window Podcast says that Alcacer wants to leave the Bundesliga outfit following the recent arrival of Erling Haaland, and says that he could be available on loan, or for a permanent fee of between €25-€30m (£21.3-£25.6m).

The link appears to have left Spurs supporters largely split though, with some seemingly happy at the 26-year-old who has 26 goals in 47 outings for Dortmund potentially arriving in north London, as you can see below.

Now this is a deal that I think can actually be completed. He hasn’t been plying regularly, Dortmund just signed Haaland, and they’re only asking for 40 mil. Levy can probably pull this transfer for 35 mil

However, not everyone was keen with one fan even comparing him to former Spurs striker Roberto Soldado, who flopped having scored just 16 goals in his 76 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites.

Another suggested that he doesn’t play in a Spurs style – seemingly in a pressing sense – by saying he has even less stamina than midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, whose fitness has been questioned by some.
PLS NOT

Another picked out the fact that he is always injured as a negative, and looking at his injury history on Transfermarkt you can certainly see he has had a lot of niggling injuries that have kept him out for a game or two, rather than any long-term absences.
Always injured
