Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has this evening provided an update on the fitness of Sadio Mane, following the injury picked up by the former Southampton man last week.
Liverpool march on
Klopp’s men travelled to Molineux last Thursday, for a Premier League meeting with Wolves.
The Reds headed into proceedings amid a scintillating spell of form, on the back of 8 straight wins across all competitions.
This had seen Liverpool open up a staggering 13-point advantage atop the English top-flight table, despite having held 2 games in hand over 2nd-placed Manchester City.
And, when all was said and done at Molineux, the Merseyside powerhouse rolled on, courtesy of a 2-1 victory.
Despite an Adama Traore-inspired Wolves having had the European champions firmly on the ropes during the second-half, a late Roberto Firmino strike eventually proved the difference between the sides.

Mane latest
One source of concern amid an otherwise positive night’s work for Liverpool last Thursday, however, came on the injury front.
The player to have picked up the problem was Reds standout Sadio Mane.
With just over half an hour on the clock, Mane went to ground in evident pain, eventually resulting in the Senegalese attacker being forced off, to be replaced by Takumi Minamino.
Liverpool’s fans had since faced an anxious wait for an update on Mane’s fitness, as the Merseysiders continue to compete on 3 fronts.
And, as outlined above, this update has this evening been forthcoming.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s meeting with West Ham tomorrow night, Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Mane has suffered a small muscle tear, and will therefore miss both Liverpool’s trip to the London Stadium, and their clash with Southampton this weekend:
Klopp says Sadio Mane will be missing for West Ham and Southampton. He has a small muscle tear.
