Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has provided a fitness update on his squad, including star midfielder James Maddison, ahead of the club’s meeting with Brighton this weekend.
Leicester return to action
The high-flying Foxes are set to visit the Amex Stadium on Saturday, for their first outing following the international break.
Leicester will head into proceedings amid a stellar run of form of late, having notched 8 wins from their last 9 across all competitions.
This includes a 9-0 drubbing of Southampton, and a crucial 2-0 victory over top-4 rivals Arsenal last time out.
As such, ahead of the latest round of Premier League action this weekend, Leicester sit 2nd in the English top-flight table, behind runaway leaders Liverpool.
Maddison boost
Brighton, though, will prove no pushovers on Saturday afternoon, with the Seagulls having secured 3-point hauls in each of their last 3 home Premier League fixtures.
Brendan Rodgers will therefore no doubt be hopeful of having all of his key performers available this weekend.
And, in a boost to the prospects of the Foxes in 2 days’ time, it has been confirmed that star midfielder James Maddison is fit to feature from the off.
Maddison missed England’s meeting with Kosovo last Sunday with a calf issue, but Rodgers has since revealed that the 22-year-old has returned to full training:
‘James is fine. He’s trained the last few days so he’s okay.’
Brendan Rodgers says James Maddison has recovered from a calf strain sustained on England duty and is available for #BhaLei 💪

The reliable Ben Dinnery has also provided a further update on the Leicester squad:
Brendan Rodgers confirms James Maddison “is fine” after aggravating a calf problem with England. “We gave Chilwell, Ricardo and Tielemans a lighter day because they played two games.” Matty James is back and building fitness.
