Henry Taylour Shares Beautiful Indie-Folk Single ‘The Sun (A Dog), Sand And Sea’

Working with acclaimed producer Josh Tyrrell (Seal, Van Morrison, James Morrison, Lana Del Rey), Henry Taylour has found a groove, making stunning indie-folk music akin to Ben Howard, John Martyn and Nick Mulvey. His new single ‘The Sun (A Dog), Sand And Sea’ is a prime example of not only Henry’s writing and playing ability but also his ear for building atmospheric, moving soundscapes.

Opening with an awkward drum beat and soft electric guitar, the track instantly builds intrigue. Henry’s reverb drenched vocals float in, instantly pinning down the rhythm and also setting the scene for the layers of ambient strings, bass and subtle acoustic guitars that build over the tracks 5 minutes 45. With such depth in the instrumentation, Henry manages to create a warming, emotional, melancholic and somewhat breathtaking soundscape.

Speaking about ‘The Sun (A Dog), Sand And Sea’, Henry said: The song is probably the lightest song I’ve ever written. It is about celebrating the happiest memories in your life, where you might show a total refusal to grow up and behave as society might sometimes suggest you should. Over the last period we have needed these memories more than ever, and we can still strive to create more like it.

‘The Sun (A Dog), Sand And Sea’ is out now, listen below.
