The 2019/20 campaign has seen a number of youthful prospects given the chance of first-team football at Chelsea under manager Frank Lampard, and one beneficiary of the new Blues boss’ belief in youth who is now featuring on the international stage is defender Fikayo Tomori.
Tomori, 21, appeared on loan for Derby County under Lampard in the Championship, but the centre-back has stepped up to the Premier League and performed admirably.
He’s made nine starts alongside earning a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad with a chance of making the final cut ahead of the European Championship finals next summer.
The Chelsea academy graduate is currently away with the Three Lions ahead of games against Kosovo and Montenegro and, although the headlines from the England camp have currently been dominated by the high-profile clash between Raheem Sterling and Joe Gomez, a video has been released of Tomori netting three impressive goals in training.
