Harry Maguire facing ‘sustained spell’ on the sidelines – Telegraph

Bad news for Manchester United

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire is reportedly facing a ‘sustained spell’ on the sidelines after suffering an injury against Wolves last week.

The Englishman signed for Manchester United in a world-record deal last summer, making him the most expensive defender in the history of football.

Since signing, Maguire has been a mainstay in the Manchester United team, featuring 27 times across all competitions this season.

Though, he suffered an injury during the goalless draw against Wolves in the FA Cup last weekend.

Despite suffering the problem in the first half, Maguire continued and finished the game.

Now, there’s been an update on his injury and it doesn’t look good for him or Manchester United.

Maguire facing ‘sustained spell’ out

According to the Telegraph, Maguire has suffered a torn hip.

They claim ‘Maguire looked in considerable discomfort as he left Molineux and subsequent scans are believed to have shown that the defender has suffered a muscle tear at the top of his hip.’

The Telegraph claim it’s unclear how long Maguire will be out for, but faces the prospect of a ‘sustained spell’ on the sidelines.

Manchester United are already in somewhat of an injury crisis too.

Axel Tuanzebe, Scott McTominay and Eric Bailly have all been out with injury recently, while Phil Jones suffered cramp against Manchester City on Tuesday.

Safe to say, Maguire’s injury will only compound Manchester United’s current injury problems.
