“Former Wasps Star”- Zach Kibirige Signs for Biarritz in French D2 with Jonathan Joseph and Rhys Webb

French Pro Rugby D2 side Biarritz have continued to bolster their squad with the exciting signing of former Wasps winger Zach Kibirige.

The 28-year-old joins the French club after a season in Super Rugby, as Kibirige signed with the Western Force following the financial collapse of Wasps last October. This is the latest high-profile signing that Biarritz have made, after the Basque Coast’s side recently secured the signatures of former England centre Jonathan Joseph and former Wales scrum half Rhys Webb.

Kibirige scored eight tries during his time with the Force, and was a key starter throughout the latest Super Rugby Pacific season. The winger scored impressive braces against the Hurricanes and Queensland Reds, yet the Force struggled throughout the season for a tenth placed finish.

The French second division is continuing to grow with these high-profile signings, with Biarritz hoping to improve on their underwhelming performance in the 2022/23 campaign. Biarritz finished the latest Pro Rugby D2 season in eleventh place, winning 12 matches out of 30 in the league.

Biarritz have also announced an assortment of contract extensions, as the club looks set for a positive step forward ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. Former Dragons centre Tyler Morgan extends his stay with a further two year deal, along with his midfield partner Francois Vergnaud.
