A hopeful start
Christian Eriksen left Tottenham Hotspur having been wanting of a new challenge. The Danish midfielder left a Jose Mourinho side which has seen its fair amount of controversies already.
Eriksen spoke about his happiness at joining the Nerazzurri upon his arrival at the San Siro.
“I’m very excited and can’t wait to introduce myself to the fans,” Eriksen said. “I’ve already experienced their warmth, it’s been a fantastic welcome. I feel great.”

“The numbers say that I did really well in England. It’s now time to start a new challenge, I’m really happy to have the opportunity to play in Serie A for a big team. Inter is a fantastic club.”
However, Antonio Conte used the Dane sparingly, coming off the bench on 9 occasions and replaced on 6 of his 17 Serie A appearances during last season. The current campaign has been of a similar nature, in his 7 appearances the 28-year-old is yet to register a goal or assist.
A way out
Due to this lack desired minutes, which is having a clear effect on the Danish international’s form, Eriksen has spoken about the possibility of seeking pastures new.
“This isn’t what I dreamed of. I think all players want to play as much as possible, but the coach ultimately decides who gets to go on the pitch,” said Eriksen.
“It is a bit of a strange situation, as the fans want to see me playing more and so would I, but the coach has different ideas and as a player I have to respect that. After all, things aren’t going well for Inter right now, but I acknowledge there were many victories when I wasn’t playing last season too.”
“For now, I am concentrating only on my football, then we’ll see when the transfer window opens if something will happen or not.”
Eriksen and Inter Milan face a 4-way fight for qualification out of their Champions League group, Eriksen may yet prove useful to Conte in achieving their target.
