Experienced Russia international loosehead prop Valeriy Morozov will be reunited with Steve Diamond when he joins Warriors from Bath Rugby for the 2022/23 season.
There were a number of negative and mostly inappropriate comments about the signing, though they evidently came from non rugby fans with little knowledge of the players background.
As a result, most of them have thankfully been deleted.
However, the Russian prop, who has a Ukrainian wife, was a hugely popular player during his time with Bath and Sale Sharks.
One fan wrote: “Good signing for you guys, I rated highly at Sale and never understood why we let him go.”
Another added: “Great guy. Hope he does well.”
“I have known Valeriy from the time I had coaching Russia. He is an exceptional athlete,” said Diamond.
“He is a very humble person with a fantastic work ethic and he will be a superb addition to our squad.”
“I know how Steve works and what he expects from his players,” added Morozov. “I hope I can help Warriors become a top six Premiership club.”
