Gilmour and his band will be playing at the legendary Hollywood Bowl, in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday 29th (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2024-david-gilmour-tour-zone/october-29th-hollywood-bowl-hollywood-los-angeles-c.html) and Wednesday 30th October (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2024-david-gilmour-tour-zone/october-30th-hollywood-bowl-hollywood-los-angeles-c.html), before heading up to New York City, New York, for a brace of shows at Madison Square Garden, in Manhattan, on Monday 4th (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2024-david-gilmour-tour-zone/november-4th-madison-square-garden-new-york-city-n.html) and Tuesday 5th November (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2024-david-gilmour-tour-zone/november-5th-madison-square-garden-new-york-city-n.html). That last date – 5th November, is not just National Doughnut Day in America, but also the day of the US election, where the next president will be voted on and elected. David played two nights in both venues in 2016 on his last tour, so it’s not a huge surprise to see him return to them. For the 2024 dates, these will be the ONLY North American cities, and join the dates in London, England, and Rome, Italy on the schedule. You can sign up to the official David Gilmour newsletter (http://davidgilmour.com/uspresale) to get exclusive ticket pre-sale access. The pre-sale will launch Wednesday, May 15th, 10am local. The window to qualify for the pre-sale ends at 1pm PT / 4pm ET on Tuesday May 14th. Pre-sale codes will be sent out later that day. Tickets will then go on general sale at 10am local on Friday, May 17th from this link at Ticketmaster (https://www.ticketmaster.com/david-gilmour-tickets/artist/769001).

Rare David Gilmour/Guy Pratt collab in Record Store Day 2020
Following on from our recent news that the 2020 Record Store Day would be including amongst the raft of rarities, available on April 18th at participating stores (and not online) releases from Roger Waters, Pink Floyd and Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, there's a fourth item of interest for Floyd fans included on the list. It's also something that has been the subject of rumour in the past…and now can be confirmed. The 1995 film Hackers had an interesting music soundtrack, and in particular, an instrumental heard at the climax of the film. In a sequence at New York's Grand Central Station, there is a joint piece by Guy Pratt and David Gilmour to accompany the scene. Rolling Stone did the reveal: Gilmour visited the home of Guy Pratt, Pink Floyd's touring bassist since Momentarily Lapse of Reason, while the bassist was working on music for the 1995 movie. The meet-up became an impromptu jam session that became 'Grand Central Station'. In the film's credits, the song was only credited to the mysterious sounding Deep Cover .The exclusive 13-track, 2LP Record Store Day edition of the album will mark the soundtrack's debut on vinyl and will feature tracks that were not included on the original album, including 'Protection' by Massive Attack, 'Open Up' by Leftfield, two pieces by Guy Pratt (including 'Grand Central Station') plus the 'Hackers Suite', performed by composer Simon Boswell. The gatefold jacket will offer new liner notes from the film's director, Iain Softley, as well as unreleased photos of the cast. The CD and digital edition of Hackers (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), which appears the previous day (April 17th) direct from Varese Sarabande (https://www.varesesarabande.com/products/hackers) will include an additional six tracks. As with the other RSD 2020 releases, it is a limited edition: often the RSD releases are pressed up as just a couple of thousand or so worldwide. We understand that there are going to be 2,500 of these available to snap up on the day. And, as we've mentioned previously, these limited edition items are released via RSD participating stores on 18th April 2020 – go to RecordStoreDay.com (http://www.recordstoreday.com/) for more details of who those will be. A reminder that it will ONLY be these stores participating; the stores themselves can't sell it online – the record will become available for customers coming through the door of the store from the morning of the 18th (and not before), in limited quantities – first come, first served, and only one copy per customer. After RSD, if copies remain, they may put them for sale online (and of course, there'll also be copies on eBay inevitably…).

David Gilmour adds Hollywood Bowl, LA, and Madison Square Garden, NYC shows
Just announced: a third Hollywood Bowl, LA show (October 31st) and a fourth Madison Square Garden, NYC show (November 9th). This means there are now a total of seven shows across both cities, which are the only North American locations for David Gilmour’s 2024 concert dates (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2024-david-gilmour-tour-zone/index.php). David and his band are playing on October 29th, 30th and 31st at the Hollywood Bowl, before heading up to New York City for performances at Madison Square Garden on November 4th, 5th, 6th and 9th. Tickets for all the North American shows go on general sale at 10am local time tomorrow (Friday, May 17th) from this direct link at Ticketmaster.com (https://www.ticketmaster.com/david-gilmour-tickets/artist/769001). Presales for most of the shows have already taken place and have proved extremely popular, so we don’t expect remaining tickets to hang around for long. And, as a reminder, the Italian shows in Rome go on general sale tomorrow morning too, through this link at Ticketone.it (https://www.ticketone.it/en/artist/david-gilmour/).
