Chelsea have submitted a €20m offer for prolific Metz striker Habib Diallo, according to reports in France.
Diallo has been in fine form in Ligue 1 for Metz this season, scoring 10 goals in 19 games and adding one assist.
We exclusively revealed in November that Chelsea had joined the race for the Senegal international, along with Tottenham, Watford and Norwich – and now Republicain Lorraine add that the Blues’ interest has become an official offer.
The French source suggests that Chelsea have put a bid of €20m on the table for the 24-year-old’s signature as they look to add depth in attack.
Tammy Abraham is among the Premier League’s top scorers this season, but his form has left a lack of opportunities for both Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi, prompting both to consider a January exit.
Bathsuayi has been linked with Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, and most recently Italian side Roma, with a transfer essential to his chances of making Belgium’s squad for Euro 2020.
France international Giroud is in a similar boat, and has also been linked with Villa – something their manager Dean Smith has refused to deny – while rumours about Inter Milan’s interest continue to appear.
Leicester and Newcastle had also been linked with Diallo, who has spent his entire professional career in France and scored his first international goal for Senegal in November.
