Mount shines vs Wolves
Chelsea’s Premier League campaign drew to a close on Sunday vs Wolves.
The Blues headed into the tie knowing a point would be enough to secure their Champions League status for another season.
But when the final whistle blew at Stamford Bridge, Frank Lampard’s men had gone one step further.
A rather drab opening half came to life in the final few minutes thanks to some brilliance from Mason Mount.
First, the youngster bent in a sensational free-kick to give the Londoners the lead.
Then, just minutes later, Mount was involved again, this time providing a through-ball to Olivier Giroud who went on to make it 2-0, securing Chelsea a key victory.

Lampard praises Mount
After the Wolves clash, Frank Lampard went on to speak in detail about Chelsea’s star man on Sunday.
Considering his age and the fact he had zero top-flight experience to his name before this season, Mount has had a pretty impressive 2019/20 campaign, which has seen him score seven and assist six in 37 league outings.
And when asked on Sunday what the future holds for Mount, Lampard went on to state his opinion that the midfielder is still capable of getting a lot better:
“He will definitely get better, because he is so young and I think sometimes when a player comes in and plays in their breakthrough year and is consistently in the team people sometimes treat them like they’re older than they are. He is still young. You saw his technique from the free-kick. He is a special technique, only top players can strike balls in that way.
“His all-round game for the season has been brilliant. His work ethic and training daily is brilliant. So he will get a lot better, and he has contributed a great amount and it is just the start for Mason at Chelsea.”
