Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has, on Saturday evening, taken to social media, to respond to his costly last-gasp spot-kick miss versus Aston Villa.
Hause silences the Theatre of Dreams
Fernandes and co. returned to Premier League action earlier today.
The Red Devils played host to Villa at Old Trafford, aiming to get back on track after two defeats in three, culminating in an EFL Cup exit during the week.
When all was said and done in Manchester, however, the woes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men only deepened.
A timid display, during which the club’s rake of attacking stars struggled to make an impact, ultimately culminated in a shock 1-0 defeat.
The game’s only goal was forthcoming with 88 minutes on the clock, when Douglas Luiz’s whipped corner from the left was nodded home in thunderous fashion by Kortney Hause:

Bruno speaks out
The drama, though, did not end with Hause’s bullet header.
Hosts United were in fact afforded a golden chance to level things up deep into injury-time, when a foul on Bruno Fernandes in the Villa box saw a penalty awarded.
Despite Cristiano Ronaldo still being on the pitch, Fernandes himself stood up to take responsibility, only to direct his effort from 12 yards well clear of Emi Martinez’s crossbar:
Manchester United had the chance to tie it from the spot in stoppage time, but Bruno didn’t convert. 😳

In turn, the name of Manchester United’s midfield creator has inevitably taken centre stage throughout the post-match chatter.
And, as outlined above, on Saturday evening, Fernandes himself has spoken out for the first time since his costly miss.
Taking to Instagram, the 27-year-old posted a lengthy message to the Red Devils faithful, defiantly assuring that he will continue to step up and take responsibility when called upon moving forward, before thanking those in attendance at Old Trafford for their continued support following the full-time whistle this afternoon:
