The post British songwriter Hugo M. Hardy shares indie-folk single ‘Trainspotting’ appeared first on Turtle Tempo.
Hugo M. Hardy returns from a brief hiatus with his latest customarily heartfelt and contemplative single, ‘Trainspotting’. Inspired by an extremely difficult year in his personal life, Hugo was faced with heartbreak, grief and an unimaginable loss that left him needing introspection and space. As a result, Hugo decided to take his destiny into his own hands and head up to the mountains in solitude with only a guitar, a couple of books and some portable recording equipment. Upon his return, Hugo had amassed enough material to record his debut album with ‘Trainspotting’ as the first single.
“Trainspotting is a song about the nostalgic feeling of watching the people around me growing up, and feeling like the glory days are behind us. It’s quite self-reflective, and also hints towards me questioning whether I’ve made the right decisions, or whether I could be doing things better. I think it’s a feeling that lots of mid-20 people seem to be going through at the moment.”
