A women’s British and Irish Lions team looks likely to be given the green light with a first tour destination already announced.
A three-Test series against France across the channel is currently under consideration with the board examining the cost of the ambitious venture and commercial options.
The Mail Online have reported this morning that ‘A feasibility study chaired by three-time tourist Lions Ieuan Evans has endorsed the idea after an 11-month investigation.’
They hope to be in a position to announce the tour by the end of the month when the Women’s Rugby World Cup kicks off.
There have also been reports that a tour could take place in North America with matches against Canada and the USA.
