BREAKING: England star Jack Willis ruled out, could be replaced by brother

England’s flanker Jack Willis has encountered yet another bout of misfortune on the injury front, forcing him to withdraw from the remainder of the Rugby World Cup.

This Autumn, Ruck’s England content will be powered by Charles Tyrwhitt, as they introduce an exclusive assortment of England Rugby apparel and accessories within the Tyrwhitt Supporter Collection. Not only do they back the team, but they also elevate your wardrobe.

Prior to this setback, he participated in three of England’s warm-up matches leading up to the tournament. In those games, he made appearances as a substitute against Wales and Ireland, earned a starting role against Fiji at Twickenham, and eventually made his World Cup debut against Chile.

Steve Borthwick, who named his team to play Samoa today, said: “Jack unfortunately suffered an injury in the Test match against Chile. He recovered and rehabbed but unfortunately at this stage he’s unable to be fit. What this means is that Jack has left the squad.

“Jack has been an important member of this team. We’re really disappointed for him and disappointed that he won’t feature in the rest of this World Cup, but we anticipate he will be back in the field very soon.”

It’s expected that Alex Dombrandt or Tom Willis will replace him in the squad.

Five players on Steve Borthwick’s England standby list

#1. Henry Slade

The biggest shock of the squad announcement, Slade would surely be the only choice for Borthwick should a centre be ruled out. Numerous pundits, including Sir Clive Woodward, are of the opinion that he should have been included from the outset.

Slade is a dynamic English rugby union player known for his versatility and precision on the field. Born on March 19, 1993, he has represented both Exeter Chiefs and the national team, England. With a sharp rugby mind and exceptional skills, Slade continues to be a standout in the sport.
