Beneath the Surface: Ryta Ray

Welcome, welcome, one and all to another Beneath the Surface slice. Today we are joined with the lovely RYTA RAY off the back of her debut single ‘Frequency of Love’ written with none other than Guy Chambers. We get into all the exciting details of RYTA RAY’s musical experience so far and all the juicy things to come!

What would you say first sparked your interest in music/who inspired you to make music?

Music itself 🙂 And my amazing parents, who have always been playing piano and singing.

How would you describe the music you are currently creating?

It’s beautiful.

What does your creative process look like?

I press the record button, sit at the piano, and I play, sing along, and when I get the idea for the harmonies and some melodies lyrics comes. My favorite part of the creative process is adding strings or other instruments to the project, which usually appears in my head when I first play a draft version.

Who would you most like to collaborate with? (let’s send it out to the universe and make it happen!)

One of my dream collaborations with Guy Chambers has just happened, so now I dream of being mentored by Andre Rieu on a couple of my songs and classical pieces and performing with his unbelievable orchestra.

What is the one message you would like to send out to your fans?

Transfer your dreams into actions. Be consistent and patient. You’ll get where you want and need.

What’s your top tip to rejuvenate your creativity/get over writer’s block?

Ahh, going for any sports activity. Any blocks in our body should be shaken off. Movement is the best energy and ideas booster.

What’s next for you? What do we have to look forward to/ what are you currently working on?

A bunch of songs are in the line for release.
They are very sensual and classy with pianos and strings.
Also, currently, I’m trying new styles while having access to the best recording studios and equipment in the Abbey Road Institute and the Abbey Road Studios, some synths as well. It’s a pretty exciting journey so far.
