Spanish giants FC Barcelona have begun working on a deal for a 2nd member of Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea backline, according to reports.
The Blaugrana, of course, have already struck an agreement over the free agent arrival of one defender currently plying his trade at Stamford Bridge, in the form of Andreas Christensen.
Evidently, though, those in a position of power at the Camp Nou are not ready to call an end to their Blues raid there.
As per a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Barca’s board have taken the first steps towards striking an additional deal for none other than Marcos Alonso.
The Spanish international is understood to have been identified as one of a number of potential left-back additions to Xavi Hernandez’s ranks.
A cut-price transfer could therefore be forthcoming upon the conclusion of the campaign, ahead of the expiration of Alonso’s contract in west London in the summer of 2023.

Back on song
Word of the fresh interest in Alonso’s signature of course comes with the ex-Fiorentina man, oft criticised by Chelsea’s fanbase, having provided a timely reminder of his talents in the attacking third over the course of the last week.
After bagging the assist for the Blues’ only goal in a last-gasp win over West Ham, Alonso went one better in midweek, lashing home a superb finish to guide Thomas Tuchel’s men to a share of the spoils at Old Trafford.
