Arsenal latest: Gabriel Jesus’ wage packet, unveiling date & new Raphinha meeting set

A series of updates surrounding the ongoing efforts of the transfer team at Premier League giants Arsenal to reinforce the club’s squad ahead of next season have been forthcoming on Sunday evening.

First up comes an insight into some of the finer details of the Gunners’ impending deal for Gabriel Jesus.

Word was of course forthcoming a short time ago that, after striking a £45 million agreement with Manchester City for the Brazilian, Edu Gaspar and co. have since too thrashed out a deal with Jesus himself, over the terms of a contract.

Just how much, though, have Arsenal agreed to fork over to the club’s latest addition, over the length of his five-year deal?

Well, Brazilian outlet Globo have revealed as much, pointing towards Jesus’ annual salary as coming in at £10 million after tax, working out at a little over £190,000-per-week.

Elsewhere, the Daily Telegraph have provided an insight into precisely when the 25-year-old is expected to be announced as an Arsenal player, with Monday having allegedly been pencilled in for Jesus’ unveiling.

Raph latest

The Gunners-themed updates, though, have not ended there on Sunday evening.

This comes with the powers that be at the Emirates, despite reports in the Spanish media suggesting otherwise, understood to be continuing to work towards a deal for Jesus’ compatriot and Brazilian international teammate, Raphinha.

As per journalist Ben Jacobs, Arsenal have scheduled a 2nd round of negotiations with Leeds United this coming week.

During such talks, the capital giants are expected to table a follow-up proposal for the Peacocks’ star man, closer to the £60 million+ price-tag slapped on Raphinha’s head.

It is also worth noting, though, that the explosive wide-man himself, whilst very much open to the prospect of a move to north London, remains hopeful of La Liga giants Barcelona repositioning themselves in the race for his signature.
