Antonio Conte rules key Tottenham player out of Wolves clash

Tottenham are back in Premier League action on Sunday the 13th of February.

Antonio Conte’s side will face off with Wolves at 2 pm UK time. Ahead of the game, Conte would hold his pre-match press conference on Friday.

When speaking to the media, Conte discussed a number of topics, including team news. And unfortunately for Spurs, Eric Dier will miss out vs Wolves:

“Unfortunately he’s not fit,” Conte stated.

“For sure he’s a big loss for us. He needs a bit more time to recover. I don’t know, I hope he will be available for the next game against Man City.”

Elsewhere in the presser, Conte spoke out about the best position of Rodrigo Bentancur: “He can play, I think the best position for him is to play with two midfielders but sometimes with the national team and also with Juventus, he also played in a three but in my mind the perfect suit for him is to play with two midfielders.”

Conte was then asked about the possibility of Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski starting vs Wolves:

“For sure this could be a possibility”, the Italian stated. “We have another day of training to make our decision. They are working with the team and I prefer to wait until tomorrow to make the decision on the starting XI.”

Tottenham vs Wolves

Tottenham head into their clash with Wolves sat 7th in the Premier League table after losing their last two league outings.

Despite their dip in form though, Spurs can still move into the top-four if they win their games in hand on the sides above them.

Picking up a win vs Wolves is easier said than done, though, with Bruno Lage’s side often a very tough side to break down defensively.

They are currently 8th in the league and two points behind Spurs, but have played one more game than the Lilywhites.
