Something of a war of words has erupted this evening, on the back of the meeting between Tottenham and Manchester United.
Reds turn it around
The marquee fixture of the Premier League weekend of course took place in north London earlier today.
The clash saw Spurs play host to the Red Devils, in a crunch matchup in the race for European football.
Visitors United headed into proceedings boasting the advantage in the table, sitting in 2nd, and aiming to close the gap on Man City following the Sky Blues’ surprise defeat to Leeds.
It was Tottenham, though, who had more to play for, with Jose Mourinho’s men having slipped further off the top-4 pace in a disheartening stalemate with Newcastle last weekend.
When all was said and done in the capital on Sunday, however, the Champions League hopes of the Lilywhites were only dented further.
After Heung-min Son handed Spurs the lead shortly before the interval, United soon came roaring back, showcasing their superiority to emerge on the right side of a 3-1 scoreline.
Fred levelled things up on the hour-mark, before Edinson Cavani’s finish ten minutes from time was added to by Mason Greenwood at the death.
Manchester United came from behind once again to win 3-1 at Tottenham and dent the hosts’ top-four hopes with just seven Premier League games remaining. 🔴

Son & Pogba targeted
As outlined above, however, whilst the action on the pitch, in and of itself, proved of a highly entertaining fashion in north London on Sunday, the drama has since continued to unfold in the game’s aftermath.
This comes with both bosses having aimed less than subtle digs at one of their latest opponents’ stars.
First, speaking in a post-match interview, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took advantage of the opportunity to hit out at Heung-min Son, for what the Norwegian labelled as ‘conning’ the officials.
This came after what looked set to be a United opener in the first-half was ruled out by VAR, on the back of a minor coming together between the Tottenham attacker and Scott McTominay:
‘If my son stays down like this for three minutes… if he gets that in the face, if he needs 10 mates to help him up he won’t get any food.’
‘And just like before, they are conned. We weren’t conned, the referee was.’
‘The game is gone, absolutely gone, if that’s a clear and obvious error.’
‘If it’s a clear and obvious error that he’s been told to look at it. It’s a perfectly good goal.’
‘That kick-started us though. I know we conceded a goal straight afterwards, but the performance afterwards was so much better.’

In turn, speaking during his own post-match media duties, it came as little surprise when Jose Mourinho was also drawn on United’s disallowed goal.
The Tottenham boss, however, immediately shifted focus elsewhere, highlighting an incident between Paul Pogba and Serge Aurier which he feels should have seen the former dismissed:
‘I think we were unlucky because Pogba should get a red card for an elbow on Serge Aurier. If you are going to speak about VAR maybe you should speak about that.’
‘I don’t understand anything anymore. Sometimes you get decisions, sometimes you don’t get them, but it’s very difficult to analyse.’
Regarding Solskjaer’s aforementioned comments on Son, meanwhile, Mourinho somewhat bizarrely added:
