Why Arsenal are set to wear special kit for Nottingham Forest tie

Arsenal are set to wear a special kit for their FA Cup tie with Nottingham Forest this weekend.

Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal face a trip to the City Ground on Sunday evening for a meeting with Nottingham Forest.

The clash will be a 3rd round affair and should be a fairly easy outing for the Gunners, if they put out a decent eleven.

Nottingham Forest are currently 9th in the Championship, but have lost their last two.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are flying high in the Premier League, seeing off most sides with relative ease, barring the ‘top-six’. Even so, the north Londoners still put on a credible display vs Manchester City last time out and, if they play anywhere close to that level this weekend, their passage into the 4th round is almost guaranteed.

And, whilst Arteta is no doubt heavily focused on the league right now, he would likely love to win the FA Cup to add to his silverware collection.

Arsenal, of course, clinched the trophy under the Spaniard in 2020, but then crashed out of the competition in the 4th round last year.

Ahead of the game, it has been revealed that Arsenal are set to don an all-white kit for the clash.

The reason for this, as per the Evening Standard, is to help tackle knife crime and youth violence.

Arsenal have teamed up with Adidas to work together on the campaign ‘No More Red’, which builds on the work currently being done by Arsenal in the Community.

The ‘No More Red’ initiative aims to provide safe spaces for people to play football, starting with the pitch on the Harvist Estate just minutes away from Emirates Stadium.
