What it would take for Paul Pogba to stay at Manchester United beyond current season

A fresh update on the future of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has emerged recently.

The future of Manchester United man Pogba has been up in the air for some time now.

Mino Raiola claimed back in December of 2020 that his client was unhappy at Old Trafford, suggesting that it was ‘over’ for him at the club.

This was followed by Raiola once again attempting to drum up speculation surrounding a potential move to Real Madrid for his client.

All of this comes with Pogba now having just less than six months to run on his current Man United contract.

This, of course, means that Pogba is now free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs and is currently on course to leave United on a free at the end of June.

Now though, a report from the Daily Mail citing the Sun suggests that Pogba could be set to make a contract U-turn.

Their report claims that Paul Pogba is prepared to stay at Manchester United this summer if Ralf Rangnick remains in charge of the side.

Pogba is actually yet to play under the German due to an injury layoff, but it is still claimed that Pogba has been so impressed by Rangnick that he is now prepared to make a drastic U-turn and put pen to paper on a new deal.

Will Ralf Rangnick get the Manchester United job?

The only issue with this, however, is that Ralf Rangnick may not get the permanent Manchester United job.

Manchester United’s results have not been terrible under Rangnick, but they have had a pretty easy run of games and have still looked subpar in most of their outings.

It will be interesting to see how the former RB Leipzig boss deals with United’s tough run of fixtures during the month of March and beyond.

Should he not impress the United board enough to land the permanent job, it looks as though Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag are the current frontrunners to take charge.
