Tottenham boost as Harry Kane ‘passed fit’ for Man City showdown

Tottenham star Harry Kane is set to be passed fit to feature in tomorrow’s League Cup final, according to reports.

City the favourites

The marquee fixture of the English football weekend is of course set to play out at Wembley.

The matchup in question will see Spurs and Manchester City go head to head, for the first major piece of silverware of the season – the Carabao Cup.

It is Pep Guardiola’s City who, for obvious reasons, will head into the clash as favourites, having enjoyed a scintillating campaign to date, with a treble still very much on the cards.

The Sky Blues are also regarded as tournament specialists, having remarkably clinched glory in four of the last five editions of the League Cup.

Underdogs Tottenham, on the other hand, will head into the capital showpiece in search of their first trophy since all the way back in 2008.

The north Londoners’ tumultuous season thus far means that they will also enter the clash overseen by a manager with just a solitary game on the club’s bench under his belt.

Kane latest

As outlined above, though, with less than 24 hours to go ahead of the action getting underway at Wembley, Spurs have been handed a boost.

This comes in the form of an update on the fitness of star striker Harry Kane.

Kane of course limped out of the Lilywhites’ meeting with Everton last week, after picking up an ankle problem. In turn, the English international was forced to sit out the club’s subsequent win over Southampton.

Kane had therefore since been viewed as a major doubt to feature in Sunday’s League Cup showpiece, but, as per the latest reports, now looks primed to return.

According to the reliable Mike McGrath of the Telegraph, the hitman has recovered, and is therefore ‘set to be passed fit’ to play at least some part versus Man City:
