“There is no limit” – Eddie Jones reveals his ‘first’ name on the England team-sheet

England head coach Eddie Jones has named Tom Curry as his key man and the first name on the team-sheet during an interview with BT Sport.

Jones’ men have spent the week in Jersey to prepare for their three Autumn Nations Series matches against Tonga, South Africa and Australia.

Maro Itoje is often held up as England’s star player and future skipper, but Jones opted for his back-row sensation Curry as the man he ‘wants to build his team around’.

Jones said: “One man who’s done remarkably well for England is Tom Curry. You look at the way his game has developed since he came into the team during the last Lions tour in 2017.

“He’s played at 6,7 and 8 for us and I can really see his game developing to another level. He came in as a very strong defensive player but I think he can really develop his attacking game in a similar way Richie McCaw did.”

“There is no limit to where his game can go.”

Tonight, Jones has called up Harlequins’ Louis Lynagh and Northampton Saints’ Alex Mitchell following Harry Randall’s withdrawal.

All matches are live on Amazon Prime Sport and TalkSPORT.

DANNY CIPRIANI PICKS HIS ENGLAND XV

BACK-THREE:

15. Freddie Steward (Leicester Tigers) – “Everybody at Leicester has been raving about Steward for a while and I would like to think England are as excited at his exceptional attacking potential as well as his towering presence under the high ball, for which he is best known.”

14. Max Malins (Saracens)

Cipriani said: “I’ve gone for Malins on the left wing because most teams have right-footed kickers, so he can work on the pendulum with Steward, who should start at full back.”

11. Adam Radwan (Newcastle Falcons)

Cipriani said: “Radwan on the other wing, but you need to give him licence. He’s that type of explosive athlete who can do something from nothing. I think Radwan will explode into the international game”

CENTRE:

13. Henry Slade (Exeter Chiefs)

Cipriani said: “Henry has started the season on fire too, though. Farrell can play at 12 but is he going to overshadow Marcus? It has to be clear Marcus is running the show as the 10.”

12. Manu Tuilagi (Sale Sharks)
