Terry, Hudson-Odoi and Abraham send messages to Casey Palmer on Instagram following Chelsea exit

Chelsea prospect Kasey Palmer has joined Championship side Bristol City on a four-year deal.

The move brings Palmer’s journeyman tale to a close. It’s one which saw one him follow the same fruitless path so many Stamford Bridge prospects have traipsed before, consisting of a never-ending cycle of loan spells and broken dreams.

And we don’t blame him. Lukas Piazon revealed the pain and anguish of what it was like being a Chelsea loan starlet following his fifth loan spell away from the Blues, and it didn’t sound pleasant. In an almost desperate way, he claimed he was “tired of moving abroad,” and added, “one, two, three loan, maybe that’s enough.”

Palmer may not have fared much better than his Brazilian counterpart, having spent time with Huddersfield Town, Derby County, Blackburn Rovers before settling with Lee Johnson’s side, but at least he’s been handed a lifeline.

A number of big names from his former club including John Terry, Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi swarmed his most recent Instagram post to wish him luck on the latest leg of his professional journey.

Palmer bagged two goals in 17 appearances for the Robins last season and will likely feature in the squad set to face Leeds United on the opening weekend of the 2019/20 Championship campaign.
