Pundit backs Edwards to work Liverpool magic, as brilliant fee for key sale named

Paul Robinson claims that Liverpool will be able to get £15million for Harry Wilson, a key player on the club’s transfer departure list.

The Reds enter the summer window reportedly looking to freshen up their ranks. They have already bolstered their defence by agreeing a deal to sign RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konate. However, a new attacker could be on the cards, amid doubts over Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Loaned-out winger Wilson’s future also looks uncertain going into next season.

The 24-year-old came close to leaving on a permanent deal last summer, with Burnley showing serious interest in a transfer. But they could not get a deal over the line.

As a result, he instead moved to Cardiff on loan, where he impressed with seven Championship goals and 12 assists.

Despite him going off the Premier League radar of late, former goalkeeper Robinson believes that top-flight clubs could again come in for the winger, with sporting director Michael Edwards facing a busy period.

“I think they will be able to get £15million for Harry Wilson,” the pundit told Football Insider.

“It’s a reasonable price for a very good young player. He had a great season at Cardiff and I think there will be Premier League clubs looking to sign him now.

Liverpool will have to speculate to accumulate this summer. They need to sell players if they want to bring players in and they need to freshen things up in a couple of positions so it’s important.

“There might even be a better price or a better deal to be done with Wilson.”

While the Reds are losing Georginio Wijnaldum to a move across Europe – amid a U-turn over a move to Barcelona – reports have claimed that boss Jurgen Klopp will not sign a replacement.

Instead, he will trust youngster Curtis Jones to step up after integrating himself into the team last season.

Liverpool confirm transfer talks with duo

Yasser Larouci, Liverpool full-back

Meanwhile, Liverpool have confirmed that they are in talks over new contracts for two players.

The defender has struggled to break into the first-team squad, with Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas ahead of him in the pecking order.

Centre-back Remi Savage has also been offered a new deal after settling into the Under-23s team.
