Paper Talk: Van Dijk set to pen mega new Liverpool contract; £27m Arsenal star hunted by Inter Milan

Liverpool kingpin Virgil van Dijk is set to sign a mega new deal at Anfield, while Inter Milan are hoping to lure Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin with a £27million bid, all in the papers.

VAN DIJK SET FOR NEW DEAL

Virgil van Dijk is set to sign a new lucrative contract at Anfield which will make him the highest-paid player in Liverpool’s history, claims a report.

The Sun say the Dutch centre-back will sign a five-year contract on £220,000 a week “once Jurgen Klopp’s side have the Premier League title in the bag”.

That’s a deal which will be worth £57million and it will represent a £40,000 a week increase on his current £180,000 a week wages.

The report claims Liverpool have moved to offer the former Saints man new terms after PSG had “made it known” they were interested in his service.

The Sun do state though that Van Dijk’s head “has not been turned” despite the fact that he could most probably double his money in the French capital.

The 28-year-old defender will sign the deal next month after the club rubber-stamped the new proposal.
