Nikola Milenkovic ‘will push’ for Man United move if Reds make formal bid

A recent report from Italy has linked Nikola Milenkovic with Premier League outfit, Manchester United.

Who is Nikola Milenkovic?

The now 23-year-old joined Fiorentina in the summer of 2017.

The centre-back left his home country of Serbia, where he was plying his trade with FK Partizan Belgrade, for a reported fee of around £4.5m.

Milenkovic has since gone on to feature 120 times for the Serie A outfit, notching 10 goals in the process

The stopper has also notched 26 appearances for Serbia’s senior side since making his debut in 2018.

Milenkovic open to Manchester United move

And now, Milenkovic, whose current contract runs until 2022, looks to be attracting some big-name clubs.

A report from Italy earlier this month credited both Manchester United and Liverpool with an interest in the stopper.

And now, a further transfer update on the promising, young defender has come to light.

According to Goal, citing Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport, Milenkovic is open to a move to Manchester United.

It is added that should the Reds make a formal bid for the centre-half, Milenkovic would push for the transfer.

In terms of a potential fee for the Serb, it is added that Fiorentina are expected to hold out for a sum in the region of £30m.

But given Milenkovic will have just one year left on his current deal come the summer, perhaps Man United, or any other interested party, will be able to land him for a slightly lower fee.

Milenkovic is right-footed, though, so he may not be the ideal partner for Harry Maguire should United indeed look to pursue him, as it has been claimed previously that the Reds were in the market for a left-footed centre-back.
