The Elephant Trees, a nostalgic Manchester-based band have today released ‘Idiot’, an infectious track which gives you an uncontrollable bounce and makes it almost impossible to not jump up and down at it from the very start. The song blends infectious lyrics with powerful winding riffs laced behind them. It is one of those songs you want to have on repeat for the whole of the summer, it makes for the most interesting listening experience you would have had in months.
Speaking of the track, Martha Phillips explained ‘You know that feeling of chaos that comes with falling in love, that out of control, hurtling towards the sudden panic of opening yourself up to vulnerability? Somewhere in that confusion stemmed ‘Idiot.’ You can tell yourself 100 times not to be such an idiot, but who are you to stand in the way of your own happiness? ‘Idiot’ is the first in a series we’ve been working on for a while and I’m excited to let everyone into our party’.
The band have just spent a busy summer playing a series of huge festival slots from Liverpool Sound City to opening the Hard Rock Stage at Isle of Wight festival. With their debut EP on the horizon, the band have also confirmed a November headline tour with more shows to be announced. You can find details of the tour below and we also recommend listening to ‘Idiot’ as soon as you can.
