NEW MUSIC: First Frontier – Landslide

Do you know that moment when a relationship changes from casual to serious? When you share that romantic situation that you might (or might not) have been waiting for? The point of no return where you could fall hopelessly in love or find yourself grasping at straws to get out. First Frontier‘s ‘Landslide’ looks at this experience and the emotions felt at that moment.

Hailing from South London, UK, this energetic duo has been sharing their upbeat, lively sound with the masses since 2019. Yes, they are relatively new on the scene, but Helena Poole and Paul Stafford have already received positive coverage on Nexus Music Blog, Get In Her Ears, The Other Side Reviews and Turtle Tempo (that’s us!) for their debut single ‘Take Cover’. Read our review HERE.

The follow-up to ‘Take Cover’, First Frontier’s sophomore single ‘Landslide’ is a steady but energetic single with pounding drums and dynamic guitar riffs. Melding indie-rock with a grunge flavour, the duo breed a new style of garage-rock in their latest single. While the powerful instrumentation is attention-grabbing, it is the incorporation of Paul’s soulful vocals with moving lyricism that inspires a beguiling cheerfulness in the listener.

Reminiscent of Nirvana and an English Kurt Cobain, First Frontier have released another banger of a tune with ‘Landslide’. Oh, by the way, love conquers all in this romantic rock song.
