NEW MUSIC: Fellow Feeling – Dig

Alternative rock quartet Fellow Feeling release uplifting and anthemic new single “Dig”.

Long Island-based alternative rock outfit Fellow Feeling formed as a few mates from their local church. Michael LaRocco, Ryan Albrecht, Chris Prestamo and Dan LaRocco met some years ago, and since the band’s casual inception, decided to pursue the band life outside of their place of worship. “Dig” is the latest product of the four members’ collaboration, anthemic and uplifting for all its deep and meaningful lyrical matter.

Inspired by The War On Drugs, Bon Iver, Death Cab For Cutie and Bear’s Den, it’s safe to say the band’s tastes are eclectic, but it’s this combination of 00s rock, alternative folk and heavy indie-rock that sees Fellow Feeling carve out a niche of their own. “Dig” is reminiscent of all the best singalong emo anthems from ’06 to circa ’08, but it presents a type of modernity in lyrics that delve into mental health struggles…

Fellow Feeling describe their new release as “a song about codependency written through the lens of seeing another person in a struggle you’ve overcome, and trying your hardest to help them find a way out. This song is a commentary on the harm we can cause ourselves fighting too hard to save others.”

Full of catchy hooks and featuring a slammin’ guitar solo, what’s not to like? This is one to yell-sing aloud in your kitchen – annoy the neighbours if you must. Be sure to keep up with Fellow Feeling on the links below, as a little birdy tells me there’s plenty of music from these guys still to come…
