Manchester City have been handed a big boost ahead of their meeting with Brighton.
The two sides are set to clash on Wednesday evening in a Premier League match.
Ahead of the game, Graham Potter has spoken to the press to provide a team news update. When doing so, Potter confirmed that Yves Bissouma will miss out vs City due to suspension:
“Everybody is ok. We’ve been recovering this morning after the Tottenham game and everybody feels good. Obviously Yves is suspension but everybody else should be okay,” Potter said.
“Steven Alzate missed the game at Spurs due to illness, but he’s back in training – he did a light session today so we’ll see how he is. There’s a chance he could be involved in the squad.”
Given how impressive Bissouma has looked in the Seagulls’ recent wins over Arsenal and Tottenham, not having to face him on Wednesday is a big plus for Manchester City.
Manchester City vs Brighton
Brighton head into the Man City game in fine form, taking the scalp of both north London giants recently.
However, they do have a pretty dismal record against Manchester City. The south coast outfit picked up a 3-2 win over the Sky Blues at the end of last season. However, at that point City already had the title wrapped up and rested a number of key players ahead of their Champions League final meeting with Chelsea.
And, apart from that match, which City had Scott Carson in goal for, Brighton have not beaten Manchester City since all the way back in 2008 in a League Cup encounter.
