Manchester United are working behind the scenes on an exciting deal to sign Velez Sarsfield star Thiago Almada.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to bolster his options in midfield with Paul Pogba’s future up in the air.
Solskjaer is believed to be looking at young players to add to his squad and 19-year-old Almada is on his shopping list.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Ed Woodward has already made contact with the Argentine Under-20 attacking midfielder.
The report claimed that Manchester City and Atletico Madrid were also monitoring his progress, with Sarsfield expecting to sell this summer.
Now though United have muscled in on the playmaker, who has scored nine goals and registered four assists since making his debut in 2018.
The report claims United are hoping to find an agreement for around £16million – £6m less than his buyout clause.
United have also added Benfica star Carlos Vinicius to their list of transfers targets.
That’s according to Portuguese website A Bola, who claim United are ready to put forward a firm offer for the Brazil forward.
Vinicius, 25, is the Primeira Liga’s top scorer this season with 15 goals and four assists and has also attracted interest from Liverpool.
