Liverpool provide Keita & Henderson updates before Bournemouth & Atletico

Liverpool have this evening provided a fitness update on the club’s squad, ahead of their upcoming meeting with Bournemouth.

Liverpool host Bournemouth

Jurgen Klopp’s men are set to return to Premier League action tomorrow afternoon, in a meeting with the Cherries at Anfield.

The European champions, though, will actually head into proceedings amid a poor run of form.

For the first time this season, Liverpool have looked somewhat vulnerable of late.

Having their attentions spread across so many competitions appears to be taking its toll, with the Reds having fallen to defeat in 3 of their last 4.

The latest of these came on Tuesday night, as Klopp’s outfit were ousted from the FA Cup by Chelsea.

Nevertheless, though, with 10 games remaining in the Premier League season, Liverpool’s massive 22-point advantage over 2nd-placed Manchester City means that the Merseyside giants require just 4 more wins to secure the English top-flight title.

The visit of relegation-battling Bournemouth to Anfield, meanwhile, represents the ideal chance for them to pick up the first of these 4 victories, whilst getting their form back on track in the process.

Liverpool update

And, as outlined above, a fitness update on the Reds’ squad has this evening been forthcoming online.

In a post across the club’s social media platforms and official website, Liverpool provided the latest on all of Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson and Xherdan Shaqiri.

First off, Keita is in contention to feature versus Bournemouth.

Midfield partner Henderson, on the other hand, will not be risked, ahead of the English international’s potential return to action versus Atletico Madrid in the Champions League next week:

‘Naby Keita could come into contention for Liverpool having returned to training this week but Jordan Henderson will not be considered as he targets a comeback against Atletico Madrid next Wednesday.’

Shaqiri, meanwhile, ‘is still sidelined, too.’

Finally, on the back of the news that Alisson is set to miss Liverpool’s next two fixtures with a muscle injury picked up in training, it was confirmed that Adrian will continue between the posts tomorrow afternoon, despite his costly error versus Chelsea on Tuesday:

‘Adrian, who started the FA Cup defeat by Chelsea last time out, is therefore in line to deputise for Alisson as the Cherries visit Anfield for a lunchtime kick-off.’
