Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips sustained head injury during Christmas party

Brighton vs Leeds

Leeds’ next outing will see them face off with Brighton on Saturday in a late kick-off.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side head into the game having had a very poor start to the season.

Their last outing saw them blow a 1-0 lead to eventually lose 2-1 at the hands of Antonio Conte’s Tottenham.

Said result meant that Leeds remained 17th in the Premier League table and just two points above the relegation zone.

As a result, the Peacocks are no doubt desperate to pick up a win on Saturday vs the Seagulls.

And, though Brighton had a very solid start to the season they have struggled for wins of late and are now actually without a victory in their last five PL games – a stat which will no doubt please Leeds.

Kalvin Phillips sustained head injury

What is unlikely to please Leeds, however, is the recent news that has emerged regarding Kalvin Phillips.

Phillips is a key cog in this Leeds side and him missing any games is a big blow.

Now though, according to the Mirror:

Kalvin Phillips sustained a head injury that required treatment whilst out with his Leeds United teammates on Monday.

Luckily for both Phillips and Leeds, however, the issue does not appear too serious, and the midfielder is expected to be available for the Brighton game:

The club’s academy graduate, a key man in the middle of the park, has been assessed by a club doctor and trained as scheduled on Tuesday and will be available for the clash at Brighton this weekend.
