LaLiga expert predicts how many goals Leeds new boy Rodrigo will score

Spanish football expert Graham Hunter has predicted how many goals record Leeds signing Rodrigo Moreno will score this season.

The Whites announced the £27m deal on Saturday morning, after more than a week of negotiations.

The Spain international, who was previously linked with Barcelona, has joined Leeds for a reported fee of €30m (£26.7m).

The 29-year-old netted seven goals in 34 outings for Valencia last term, as well as claiming 11 assists.

Rodrigo has signed a four-year deal at Elland Road and told LUTV: “For me, I’m really happy, very excited to join the club for this important season for all of us, coming back to the Premier League.

“I just want to thank you all for the messages on the social media. Thank you to the club, the president Andrea, Victor Orta for the effort. For me it’s important, a new step in my career and I want to help the team to achieve the goals of the season.

“Leeds have been working for two weeks almost on this deal with Valencia. We knew that Valencia has more problems now because we didn’t achieve the Champions League last season.

“But since the first time Victor talked to me I knew I wanted this new challenge with Leeds, a storied club. I just want to help everybody to achieve the goals of the season.”

Following the deal, Hunter gave his verdict on how he thinks Moreno will do in the Premier League.

He wrote on Twitter: “If Bielsa plays Rodrigo as @LUFC main striker I’d be taking 10+ goals. If he’s wide or support I’d be less sure. My feeling is 13-15 Prem goals – lovely guy, hope he has fun.”

RODRIGO NAMES THREE LEEDS STARS HE KNOWS WELL

There will thankfully be some familiar faces among the Leeds squad for Rodrigo, to help with his transition.

“Pablo Hernandez has played in Valencia and I text him this morning to say hello,” Rodrigo added.

“With Kiko Casilla I played with him in the national team once. When I was at Benfica, Helder Costa was in the second team.

“So of course knowing these players is important for me for my adaptation to the club. I can’t wait to arrive as soon as possible to meet my new teammates.”
