Jurgen Klopp has provided a fitness update on Liverpool’s squad, ahead of their upcoming meeting with Chelsea.

Chelsea host Liverpool

The headline tie of the FA Cup’s 5th-round is set to take place at Stamford Bridge tomorrow night.

Frank Lampard’s Chelsea will welcome European champions Liverpool to London, as two of English football’s biggest clubs go in search of a place in the competition’s quarter-finals.

Both sides, though, will actually head into proceedings in search of a bounce-back performance.

After being put to the sword by Bayern Munich in concerning fashion in the Champions League last week, Chelsea were subsequently held to a 2-2 draw by relegation-battling Bournemouth in their return to domestic action this past Saturday.

Liverpool, though, have also been in uncharacteristically poor form of late.

The Reds have fallen to defeat in 2 of their last 3 across all competitions, including a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Watford at the weekend.

Liverpool latest

And, as outlined above, Jurgen Klopp has this evening provided an update on the squad of players set to be at his disposal, as the Merseysiders attempt to get things back on track with a victory at Stamford Bridge in 24 hours’ time.

Liverpool were without a number of key performers at the weekend, for the Reds’ defeat at Watford.

All of Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson and James Milner missed out at Vicarage Road, with respective fitness problems.

As such, Klopp was drawn on the fitness of all 3, along with long-term absentee Xherdan Shaqiri, during a press conference this evening.

And, in positive news for the Premier League table-toppers, both Gomez and Milner are back in contention to feature:

‘No new ones [injuries], I think. Joe and Millie are back. The others aren’t.’

As per Liverpool’s official website:

Jordan Henderson (hamstring) and Xherdan Shaqiri (calf) remain sidelined.
