England prop Joe Marler shared an emotional Instagram post following what he called an incredible Rugby World Cup.
“Now that the dust has settled and I’ve finally managed more than 3 hours kip, I just wanted to say thank you. We came up short of our goal, but I am no less proud of what we achieved on and off the field with this group of men.
So, thank you.
“To Japan, you beautiful country.
“To the Japanese people, you warm, kind and friendly nut jobs. You welcomed every single nation as your own.
To all the England supporters that made the effort to travel out there, as well as all the tight arses that stayed at home and watched it on the sofas.
“To all my team mates and everyone involved behind the scenes, for making it a f***ing unbelievable experience, the best time I’ve had in the shirt (even though they had sleeves!). And lastly, my family, you’re awesome x”
