“Got an eye for talent”, “What a man” – Many Aston villa fans pay tribute to club “hero”

On Thursday, Dean Smith celebrated one year in charge of Aston Villa.

And what a 12 months it has been! When he joined the club at the start of October, with former Chelsea captain John Terry as his assistant, the Villans were 15th in the Championship table and had won just three of their first 12 games of the campaign.

However, by the time the 46 matches were done and dusted, the Midlands outfit had risen to fifth in the table to make it into the play-offs, giving themselves a chance of promotion.

That is just what they earned, beating Derby County in the final at Wembley to make it to the promised land. They currently sit in 15th place in the top tier.

As you would expect, the club’s Twitter page paid homage to the 48-year-old on the anniversary, and it gave the team’s supporters the perfect opportunity to share their love for their boss.
